• There is little to no maintenance cost in the home solar power system.
• There are no fuel taxes for solar energy. After all, it is a free resource.
• The source of energy, sunshine, is unlimited and free.

Environmental benefits include:
• The sun, being a renewable resource, does not deplete itself or any resource. Getting sunshine does not affect other resources and does not have any negative environmental implications.

• You need a good location for acquiring solar energy. It is not available in all areas, and definitely not available in areas where sunlight is not adequate.

• Solar cells are composed of cadmium, which can be toxic.
• Home solar power systems require a battery bank, which operates on lead acid batteries. Lead acid may be dangerous to human health.
