Solar Roof Panel Installation Considerations For Efficient Energy Savings

Solar roof panels have become a common sight nowadays with the growing popularity of solar power homes. Benefits, testimonials, and advantages abound, ready to dazzle homeowners into installing solar roof panel.

Before plunging into this decision, a number of factors must be considered first. Here is a short list of the first things that must be thought of first:

• Roof position is important of course. Solar roofing sections where the panels are to be installed must never be shaded the whole day so that the solar panels can absorb all the sunlight it can. Shaded roofs are obviously a weak choice for panel location.

• The tilt of the solar roof panels or light collector should be considered as well. Sunlight reception can greatly be affected by the angle at which solar panels are tilted. Ideally, solar panels should be like sunflowers, tilted in the angle of the solar roof. The season of course, can also affect the tilt of the light. The sun is directly shining in the summer, so low tilted panels will get most sunlight.

• Location, location, location. Definitely the greatest concern is the location of the property where the solar power system is to be installed. Areas with cloudy weather and are foggy or smoggy most of the year will not benefit from solar power, as these areas obviously do not receive much light - the solar roof panels will not be utilized to their optimum. The same is true of shaded and smoggy areas.

• A home solar power roof with solar water heaters needs an unobstructed view of the sun. If the view of the sun is obstructed, then there may not be enough home energy savings to make buying one a wise investment.

Remember, sunlight is where solar power comes from, and therefore location and angles are primary considerations when during the installation of solar roof panels.
